Packaging and Labels

The SCC – Collectible Cards section – has studied a case to keep the certified cards that meet different characteristics:

Packaging

  • It consists of three plexiglass “sheets” cast and laser cut. The central is as thin as the paper it contains so as not to allow it to “board”. The upper one and the lower one, higher, serve to frame the paper and protect it from shocks
  • The SC logo is engraved in the back of the case, at the height of the label.
  • In the central sheet, on the upper part, the space containing the label is cut out.
  • The three sheets are held together by sixteen screws (eight “males” and eight “females”) completely recessed so as not to be perceptible to the touch once assembled. Their function is to seal the casing (since to open it you have to break it) but leave it “breathe the paper” protecting it. A watertight environment together with strong humidity, a sudden change in temperature and environmental pollution favor the release of paper acids: all this is instead fought by a sealed but ventilated environment.

Labels

It has three functions:

  1. It is the identity card of the Card.
  2. Report: name, place and date of birth; and all the particular signs.
It prevents or makes counterfeiting really difficult thanks to the presence of the holographic foot
  3. It makes it impossible to remove it without implications: in an attempt to remove the margins from the label die-cuts would tear so as to compromise their integrity
